Arabic name support

Moroccan identity documents may have names in Arabic, French transliteration, or both. D-ME accepts names in either script. For best match rates, use the name as it appears on the Latin-script side of the document (the French transliteration).

Name matching is case-insensitive and handles common transliteration variations (e.g., "Mohamed" / "Mohammed" / "Muhammad"). Diacritics are normalised.

CNIE notes

Morocco rolled out the electronic CIN (CNIE) in 2008. All CINs issued after 2008 are electronically verifiable. Older paper CINs (issued before 2008) may return declined due to incomplete digital records — this is not an error.
